When Calls the Heart
“ A fine work of art - music, dance, painting, story - has the power to silence the chatter in the mind and lift us to another place.” - Robert McKee

For over 24 years I have worked with my father, Al Sprague, to sell his artwork. It is such a joy of mine to be on the front lines of his many accomplishments, both professionally and personally throughout the years.
Being on the sidelines of his development into a great artist has been amazing. I have personally witnessed crowds of Panamanians flock to share in the celebration of his 65 years of painting Panama. I have seen Presidents, Ambassadors, and collectors stand and share their love for him and his work. But, I have to say, the biggest joy I have experienced over the years, is finding perfect places for his work.
Paintings are so much more than just paint on a canvas. Each one tells a story and generates emotion. When a painting brings to light a memory, a feeling, or an emotion it takes on a whole new life beyond a decoration on the wall.
Yesterday I had the privilege to sell one of dad’s fishermen originals to a gentleman who shared with me a story of why the painting meant so much to him. His excitement could be felt across the miles through his words on the phone.
This is why I do what I do. I love being a part of sharing a story, making connections, but most of all bringing joy to the lives of others through my father’s God-given talent and love.
