"Plank Street", 10 x 14, watercolor, 2019.
Growing up in the Canal Zone was a gift. All of us cherish the days when our parents told us to be home when the street lights came on. We didn’t have much, but we surely had adventure! This image of the typical houses found throughout the Zone remind me of running around during dry season barefoot, climbing line trees, and visiting my friends who lived in my neighborhood. It reminds me of playing in the rain during rainy season and coming home covered in mud because we had our own slip in slide in a mud puddle. If this image brings back memories of your childhood adventures in Panama, reminds you of home, then make it your own and relive your days in the Zone every day through an Al Sprague original.
